小狗之爱是一部喜剧,爱情片，改编自BuzzFeed爆火视频《Puppyhood》，讲述妮可和麦克斯经历了灾难般的第一次约会，两人发誓再也不见，之后却发现两人的狗狗凑成了一对，并将迎来小狗崽，他们被迫共同抚养狗狗，最终也找到了属于自己的真爱。
