幽霊繁盛記是一部喜剧,奇幻片，出雲直のオリジナル・シナリオを、「第三波止場の決闘」の佐伯幸三が監督したスリラー・コメディ。「噛みついた若旦那」の伊東英朗が撮影した。

Period comedy about an undertaker's assistant (Sakai), in love with the daughter (Kagawa) of a wealthy doctor (Yanagiya). When her father refuses to allow the young lovers to marry , and they attempt double suicide, Death (Arishima) comes to their rescue.
